Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android (MTRoA)Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android extends the Teams experience to dedicated meeting room devices running the Android operating system. It enables seamless collaboration, content sharing, and video conferencing within meeting spaces. Here’s how the Poly G7500 integrates with MTRoA:
- Certification: The Poly G7500 is certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android. This joint certification ensures that the G7500 provides an exceptional experience when used in Teams meeting rooms.
- Reuse Existing Spaces: Organizations can leverage their existing meeting rooms by deploying the G7500 with MTRoA. Instead of starting from scratch, they can rejuvenate their spaces and enhance collaboration without significant infrastructure changes.
- Best of Breed Solution: The combination of Poly’s high-performance video capabilities and Shure’s premium audio DSP speakers and microphones creates an ideal conferencing experience. This joint solution has been explicitly tested and certified by Microsoft, providing absolute assurance of a superior user experience.
Although a DSP is commonly used for the audio system in large room spaces, we can also use tabletop speakerphone that can cover a large room. For example, a Poly Trio C60 system can be connected to a single G7500 codec via the IP network; along with up to 3 USB cameras with manual switching of cameras. Today the Teams Room solution does not support automatic switching of cameras on MTRoA nor MTRoW yet, but we can expect this to be available in the near future. Below is the connectivity diagram for the G7500 MTRA solution:
Similarly, Poly also has a Teams Room on Windows solution for large spaces. The peripherals are similar but note that the master Trio C60 is connected via USB to the HP PC while the other two slave Trio C60s are paired to the master Trio C60 via IP network. A sample connectivity diagram is shown below:
